Eiropas Komisijas (EK) priekšsēdētāja pirmais vietnieks Franss
Timmermanss, aģentūru LETA informēja EK pārstāvniecībā Latvijā.
Vizītes laikā Timmermanss plkst.16 Rīgas pilī tiksies ar Valsts prezidentu Raimondu Vējoni. Tāpat viņam paredzēta tikšanās ar Saeimas priekšsēdētājas biedri Inesi Lībiņu - Egneri (V) un ārlietu ministru Edgaru Rinkēviču (V).
Viņš arī apmeklēs Žaņa Lipkes memoriālu.
Tāpat 29.septembrī paredzēta dalība diskusijā par Eiropas Savienības (ES) nākotni Rīgas Ekonomikas augstskolā, bet sestdien, 30.septembrī, Timmermanss kopā ar Madrides kluba prezidenti un bijušo Valsts prezidenti Vairu Vīķi - Freibergu, un Igaunijas ārlietu ministru Svenu Mikseru piedalīsies Rīgas konferences paneļdiskusijā par populisma politiskajām un ekonomiskajām sekām Eiropā.
